| Content | AFIC is a project established to organise three training courses in Paris during 2006, 2007 and 2008 open to producers, distributors, directors, professors from cinema schools and universities from MEDA countries and territories. Each course, conducted in English, is geared towards 20 participants and provides a solid foundation in film financing, co-production, sales, acquisitions, marketing, promotion and international business development over a two-week training course. The training aims to assist young graduates from various disciplines to start a career in film and television production or distribution and existing industry professionals to enhance their methodology, contributing to the dynamism of the industry. A number of the trainers on these courses also conduct courses in programmes for European professionals supported by the EU co-funded MEDIA Plus Training Programme. The courses provide participants with an overview of the audiovisual industry with the aim of boosting the international activity of film and audiovisual companies. Training is based on case studies, conferences and examining participants’ projects and their exhibition potential. Students formulate a financial plan, network and negotiate with potential partners and investors, draw up contracts, prepare for the launch of a film or an audiovisual programme and license rights to audiovisual works in national and international markets. |
